The path leading up to the TAP1 showroom in the former Carlsberg brewery on a still saturday morning

The entrance to CPH Kids. It is a beautiful building and impossible to photograph in its entirety

Inside there are lots of nice graphics on the wall. This is one of them. Could not find the name of the artist though.

A Wonderful Trade Show at CPH Kids in Copenhagen

Today is minus 9 celcius in Copenhagen. Coming from Iceland we usually expect it to be a little bit warmer everywhere else in the world. Putting on layers and some Icelandic wool is the only thing that works here now.

The trade show is going well and we are learning new things every minute by being here.  It would be great if we had a little bit of time to go shopping though. There is a large Lego shop on Stroget where you can buy the famous bricks individually from a bar and fill a cup with whatever you fancy. Very tempting.

Our First Day at CPH Kids in Copenhagen

We are now open to the public at CPH Kids in Copenhagen. It is wonderful to finally get comments from people other than our closest friends and family. We get great comments on the colours in the collection. People are very positive towards us and that helps a lot.
The bottom picture is of Embla, our fairy helper, sewing labels onto garments.

Looking Forward to Our Debut at CPH KIDS

"We are very excited and are already looking forward to it, growing with you and your children on board" says María Ólafsdóttir and Guðrún Ragna Sigurjónsdóttir, the designers of the Icelandic brand As We Grow, that is debuting at CPH KIDS fashion fair 2-5 februar. María graduated from Parsons School of Design and has over 20 years of experience in designing for children, and Guðrún graduated from the Iceland Academy of the Arts and has been designing knitwear since she was a little girl, and has worked among others at Karen Millen.

A/W 2012 is a mixture of charming retro pieces in simple shapes all in their signature alpaca and wool yarns, achieving a luxurious look with a vintage feel.

"Our collection focuses on blending Scandinavian design with one of the most precious natural fibers in the world, alpaca from the Peruvian Andes, that is ideally suited for use in baby clothing, because it is both soft and comfortable".

The clothes are for active children and the range allows for layering and encourages mixing and matching to create individual looks and styles.

"We welcome everyone to visit us at the fair and are extremely excited", says Guðrún.

As We Grow will be at booth number T1-030D
